A GAME TO REALLY LOOK FORWARD TO

8 January 2016

Iron manager Mark Robins says Sunday's FA Cup clash with Chelsea is one everyone at the club has been looking forward to, ever since the draw for the third round was made.

Robins spoke of the anticipation which has been building ahead of the visit to the Premier League champions, and he said the attitude of the players and staff will be nothing but positive.

"We are looking forward to the game," he told The Iron PlayerHD.

"We've had a few games to play before this one came around, but excitement builds. It's not too often you can play against the current champions of England, and that's where we're going.

"We want to get through, we're not going there with a defeatist attitude for sure.

"We know we're playing against world class players, and we're going to have to be on it all game."

He also stated the importance of the Iron stamping their own authority on the match, because it's not in his mindset to play with a defensive mentality.

Robins believes by expressing themselves, everyone in the squad can benefit in the long run - which will, in turn, help United's league fortunes.

"What I don't want to do is go there and absolutely have to shut up shop," he said.

"I want us to try and go there and show a little bit of composure, and a bit of quality at times.

"I think that's important and I think it can serve us well, regardless of the result, going forward for the rest of the season. It's a game to really look forward to."

Robins highlighted the significance of putting on a positive show for the travelling 3,000 Iron supporters too.

On the other hand though, he stated it's important everyone connected with the club savours every bit of the day.

"For us, it's about going there and performing for our supporters and each other, but enjoying the day," he stated.

"It's no different for the supporters, because they don't often get the chance to go these places, and they're terrific places to go watch football.

"But ultimately we're looking to try and put a performance in which is worthy of the club and the shirt."
