TOFFOLO: "I WAS EAGER TO GET HERE"

31 August 2016

Harry Toffolo can't wait to get started with the Iron after signing on loan from Norwich City.

The 21-year-old arrives until January and will be handed the number 15 jersey, with United's next game not until September 10 against Southend United.

"I'm absolutely delighted to get it done," he told The Iron PlayerHD.

"Once I heard that Scunthorpe were a team interested with the manager and the squad we've got here, I was eager to get here. Now I'm here, I'm buzzing."

The capped England international at under-18's, 19's and 20's levels was in action as recently as Tuesday evening when he featured for a Norwich side that won 6-1.

The Canaries beat League One side Peterborough United, one of Toffolo's former loan clubs, with the full back claiming half of their assists on the night.

"The Peterborough game was really good last night," he continued.

"The Norwich boys all did themselves proud. I'm here now and hopefully I can bring my confidence from that game here and start winning games with Scunthorpe.

"Hopefully I can bring that to the team. I aim to get as many assists as possible and get on the scoresheet.

"I'm a very attacking left-back and fans will see that early on from me. Defending is my number one job though."

Along with international experience, Toffolo has games under his belt in both the Championship and League One and will be calling on that in his latest third tier loan spell.

The left-back has high aspirations for his time with United and is looking forward to meeting up with his new teammates for the first time on Thursday.

"I've had good experiences with Swindon and Peterborough in League One," he stated.

"I've also been with Rotherham in the Championship experience and hopefully I can use that to help the team.

"I want to help get this team promoted. We're more than capable of doing that with the manager and the backing of the Chairman.

"From what I've seen of the team so far on the Football League Show they've been really good so far and I can't wait to meet up with them tomorrow.

"I loved the atmosphere when I've been here as an away player before and I can't wait to be here as a home player."
