PROGRESS

18 November 2016

It gives me great pride to write and talk about Scunthorpe United, and no more so when the team are doing well!

A tremendous home record since December 2015, playing superb football, scoring memorable goals and top of the league - a long way from the last two seasons as we looked up from the bottom of the league in our quest for survival.

This has a lot to do with our determination to be successful and that runs through the whole club, something we have all worked hard to achieve and we are now reaping those efforts.

Graham and his management team have instilled a desire to deliver the best the team can give. It is proving successful and the players have bought into it. That is all we ask as supporters of the club - 100% every time they set foot on the pitch. Inevitably, if you continue to do that, the rewards will come.

We move into the next month or so, leading up to Christmas, in a great position and let's push the team on from the terraces because, if you do that, this team will respond on the pitch. The club have subsidised coaches and reduced tickets where possible to help you, the fans, experience this current team performance and I would ask you all to spread the word and get more people down to the ground for the coming home matches. This is an exciting time here at the Iron on and off the pitch, so let's help drive Graham and his team forward and upwards into the New Year!

We are pleased to announce the Fans Forum on November 28th and this will give the opportunity to talk to myself, James and Graham about all things Scunthorpe. As discussed at last year's AGM, there will not be an AGM this year due to the structure of the shareholding in the company.

I currently hold 87.5% of the shareholding so a meeting where we vote Directors on or off the board, or any other voting procedure, is not required. However, as I said, we want all fans to know what is going on and that is why we have had more Fans Forums. All shareholders will receive their set of accounts after November 28th by electronic means or hard copy if they requested it, and there will be a summary of the accounts on the club's website as soon as practical. We will discuss the club's financial position, the stadium progression, the team and all things Scunthorpe on November 28th, and hope to also get this out on the website via the club's Twitter on the night. If you can’t attend, and want to ask a question, please use the contact email address on the website (theiron@scunthorpe-united.co.uk) and we will try and answer those questions on the night as best we can.

I want to thank Graham and the team for its tremendous efforts, and the fans for their continued support.

Up the Iron,
Peter Swann
Chairman
