Deadline day swoop Jonathon Margetts said signing for the Iron was too good an opportunity to turn down.
The former Hull City academy player penned a two-year deal with a further year's option to make it three signings on Wednesday.
"I'm delighted. It's been a bit of a whirlwind few days," he told The Iron PlayerHD.
"I only found out about it yesterday but I'm just glad it's all sorted. It's a big club and nearby to me, so I'm just delighted it's been sorted.
"I only signed for Lincoln City two months ago, so it was a difficult decision but really this was an opportunity I couldn't turn down. I loved my time at Lincoln and, even though I've only been there a short time, it's the most I've enjoyed my football in my career."
The chance to return to league football was a major positive in the 22-year-old's decision to sign for United, also indicating he's joined a club going places.
"I didn't really want to drop out of the league when I did a few years ago," he continued.
"I think it was best for me but now I've got the chance to come back in and play football in League One. It's pleasing for me and the club is going places which is even better.
"Hopefully I can come in and make an impact and do well for us."
Graham Alexander's message is to continue to work hard and score goals, according to the Doncaster-born striker and continue the momentum that has seen him score five goals in seven appearances for the Imps.
With the Iron already totalling eighteen goals in all competitions so far this campaign, Margetts admitted it will be a tough act to follow, but is looking forward to being able to chip in with goals along the way.
"He's really pleased to have me," he stated.
"He was desperate to get me in today and we've been speaking on the phone all day trying to sort it out. He wants me to come in and score goals, help the team win matches and hopefully get us promoted.
"It's a tough act to follow, but I want to come in and help the team as best I can. The lads will create chances."
The only one of the trio of incoming players today to be a permanent deal, he focused on his short-term targets and cannot wait for his first training session with his new teammates on Thursday.
"I just want to get in the team and stay in the team," he stated.
"I don't set long term targets. I want to come here, enjoy my football and take it day-by-day and game-by-game. If I'm enjoying my football, hopefully you'll be able to see the rewards on the pitch.
"I know quite a few of the lads already and I've spoken to a couple of them today, so I can't wait to see them and meet the other lads."
