MADLEY TO REFEREE MIDDLESBROUGH CLASH

30 August 2016

Andrew Madley will referee Tuesday night’s Checkatrade Trophy tie with Middlesbrough.

Madley was the man in black during an Iron fixture on just the one occasion last season, as he oversaw the 3-0 loss to Wigan on August 15.

In total, the 32-year-old was the official for 40 matches from the Championship to League Two. He handed out 118 yellow cards, and three reds.

So far in the current campaign, the Huddersfield-born official has been in charge of five matches, and his last stint in the middle was during Crystal Palace’s 2-0 victory over Blackpool on August 23.

Madley will be joined by assistant referees Mark Dwyer and Steven Meredith, with Neil Hair in place as the fourth official.
