The Iron's academy side drew 1-1 with local rivals Grimsby Town on Tuesday morning.
The Mariners took the lead on home soil on 41 minutes courtesy of a free kick, with the ball into the box not cleared allowing Town to net the opener.
United, however, pushed for the equaliser and eventually got it on 70 minutes. A long throw-in from Lewis McMichael was turned in at the near post amidst a melee of bodies, with it unclear who actually got the final touch.
Lewis Butroid could have won the game for Scunthorpe, but his effort from the edge of the box hit the post.
