Local referee Darren Drysdale will be the man in the middle for the visit of Rotherham United this evening.
The 45-year-old takes charge of an Iron fixture for the first time since Graham Alexander's first game in charge of the team on Good Friday when a goalless draw was played out against Barnsley at Oakwell. He showed three yellow cards on that day, the soliltary United caution going to Jack King.The RAF sergeant last officiated the Millers two games later when he showed no cards in a 1-1 draw against Huddersfield Town. Prior to that, he was in charge for their 5-2 home defeat against Ipswich Town
Last season, in total, he showed 80 yellow cards and two red in 34 games.
Drysdale was a Premier League assistant referee from 1998 until 2004 before his promotion as a referee to the Football League. Before his promotion, the Lincolnshire-based official was one of only three UEFA assistant referees to be from the UK.
He will be assisted this evening by Richard Wigglesworth and Chris Akers, while Dave Jones will once again assume the role of fourth official.
