The Iron are back in league action this Saturday when they face Rochdale at Spotland.
It’s United’s first fixture in Sky Bet League One for two weeks, with last Saturday’s Emirates FA Cup second round matches allowing a break for the squad.Graham Alexander’s men come into the game sitting four points clear at the top of the table, but face a Dale who have won four out of the last five in the league.
Alexander says both Duane Holmes and Jamie Ness have picked up illnesses, but only Holmes has recovered to train.
Elsewhere, the Iron boss revealed those who are currently sidelined continue to progress well, but didn’t place a timeframe on anyone’s return to action.
The two teams shared the points last time out in a 1-1 draw at Glanford Park last December.
Keith Hill’s side took the lead midway through the opening period, when Peter Vincenti’s effort was turned into the back of the net by Ian Henderson.
Parity was soon restored though, as ten minutes later, David Mirfin headed home a Scott Laird free kick.
