Scunthorpe United was proud to host the Young Heroes Award at the Attis Arena prior to Saturday’s fixture against Horsham, celebrating the outstanding achievements of young people within the local community.

The award, in association with the Iron Foundation and Study United, recognised children and young people who have shown exceptional courage, kindness, resilience, or commitment to helping others, often without seeking recognition. The Iron were delighted to welcome the Young Heroes and their families to the Attis Arena, giving them the chance to enjoy a memorable matchday experience.

Ahead of the game, the Young Heroes were welcomed by club representatives and invited into our Legends Lounge, where they were presented a medal and a certificate by representatives of the Iron Foundation, Study United and the club. Chair Michelle Harness, first team manager Andy Butler, player Will Evans and General Manager James Moody were present for the club, while the Iron Foundation was represented by CEO Scott Maxfield and Study United by Sarah Tipler, who did a fantastic job in keeping the children entertained before and after the presentation.

Speaking on the initiative, Michelle said: “It’s always been out mission and determination to ensure Scunthorpe United is at the heart of the community. Hosting our inaugural Young Heroes Award is a fantastic opportunity to shine a light on the incredible things young people are doing every day. They are an inspiration to us all.”

The club would like to thank everyone involved in organising the Young Heroes Award. Scunthorpe United remains committed to supporting community initiatives and celebrating those who make a difference both on and off the pitch.
