Match officials appointed for Barrow away game

19 October 2021

Ben Toner will be the man in the middle for the Iron's away League Two game at Barrow on Tuesday night.

The Lancashire-based official will travel to the Dunes Hotel Stadium for his 13th game of the campaign during what is his seventh season as an EFL referee. He has shown 26 yellow cards so far this season and one red.

He was last appointed to an Iron game back in November 2019, when we defeated Blackpool 3-1 in the second round of the EFL Trophy. There were four bookings and one sending off that night, as the home side's Callum Guy was dismissed.

In total, he's refereed United on nine occasions, showing 23 yellow cards and one red.

Last season he officiated Barrow on two occasions, showing seven yellow cards and one red in their 1-0 loss at Carlisle, and then three bookings in the 1-1 draw at Exeter City.

On Tuesday, he will be assisted by Joe Simpson and Richard Woodward, while Mark Cunliffe has been appointed as the fourth official.
