Our fourth Grassroots Football Day proved to be another success at the weekend, with a number of local junior football teams attending to add around 1,000 to the attendance.
The local teams, who play in the Liberty League, Jack Kalson League, Mid-Lincs Co-op League and Lincolnshire Girls League, were situated in the AMS Stand.
All were able to take advantage of our special offer recognising the work that goes into local junior football.
A massive thank you to all the teams, the team managers, players, representatives and parents for supporting the initiative and supporting the Iron against Forest Green Rovers. After making it third time lucky last year against Accrington Stanley, in terms of the on-field performance, it was great to back that up with another win, with John McAtee scoring the only goal of the game just after the interval.

We had Broughton Ravers Under-11s flag bearing the two teams onto the pitch, while Scotter Colts Under-11s took advantage of the big flag package. We hope both teams enjoyed their added incentive.
Thank you for your support in the event, some of the teams who have booked on have been to each and every Grassroots Day, which is a brilliant achievement, while some managers have commenced the cycle again, bringing a younger team to watch the game. One thing to bear in mind, you can take advantage of group booking rates once per team throughout the season, or register your interest to be flag bearers as the teams walk out.
As soon as the fixtures come out in June for the 2020-21 season, we will be booking teams in for both our flag bearing and big flag package, but remember the opportunity will be available in future campaigns.
