Hopper set up the Dutchman’s goal against Portsmouth and will be hoping they can both put in another solid performance versus Gillingham on Saturday.

Speaking to iFollow Iron, the 24-year-old previewed the Gills encounter this weekend, while also offering his thoughts on United’s last game.

ON THE PORTSMOUTH DRAW LAST SATURDAY…
TH: I think, looking back, we are probably frustrated we didn’t get the three points in the end. Considering we went a goal down, we were pleased to show good character and take a point. It is a difficult place to go and they have been in good form, so we will take the point and move on.

ON HIS PERFORMANCE…
TH: I was pleased to contribute and obviously delighted for Kevin (van Veen) to get the goal. I was pleased with how I played and I still want to keep kicking on.

ON HIS PARTNERSHIP WITH KEVIN VAN VEEN…
TH: We have been doing very well and getting good results. We have been linking up well. We also get on well off the pitch and it is working very well on the pitch as well. We have got a lot of good strikers here, so we both have to play well to keep our shirts.

ON GILLINGHAM…
TH: They have had a bit of a resurgence since we last played them. They will probably be well organised and they will come here knowing how good we are. They will try and stop that, but we will worry about ourselves and do what we can to beat them.

ON THE 0-0 DRAW EARLIER IN THE SEASON…
TH: They will probably look for something similar with their tactics against us, so we will work hard in training and find a way we can break them down.

ON THE IRON’S RECENT RESULTS…
TH: Recently, it has been good for us because we picked up a lot of points over the festive period, which is important to do when the games come thick and fast. We had to keep adding points onto our tally. I think we played well at times and didn’t play well at other times, but we still managed to get some points, which is important.

ON TWO HOME GAMES IN QUICK SUCCESSION…
TH: It was a fairly long journey so it is nice to be at home this weekend and on Tuesday night as well. We will focus fully on Saturday, which will be another tough game, but one we will be looking to take three points from.

ON PICKING UP POINTS AGAINST SIDES TOWARDS THE TOP OF THE TABLE…
TH: It is important to get points off them and they will be looking to do the same against us. Regardless of who the team is, we need to take three points off them as the main aim. It doesn’t really matter who we are playing, we just need to keep racking up the points.
