In this edition of Loan Watch, we’ll round up the fortunes of some of the Scunthorpe players who are plying their trade away from the club.

We start our review with forward Kyle Wootton, who has joined Sky Bet League Two side Cheltenham Town for the remainder of the campaign. Wootton, who was registered in time for the Robins’ clash with Crewe Alexandra at the weekend, went close to getting the winner at Gresty Road, but his late header flashed marginally over the crossbar. The striker also completed 73 minutes, as Cheltenham edged out Luton Town 3-2 on Tuesday night.

Also leaving on a temporary basis is midfielder Luke Williams. The former Middlesbrough man has linked up with Justin Edinburgh at Northampton Town for the rest of the season, and was given a standing ovation in his first outing for the Cobblers on Saturday in their home victory over Coventry City.

Forward Jonathon Margetts completed a switch to Crewe on deadline day. The striker has made five substitute appearances for the Iron since joining from Lincoln City in August, and has so far netted once.

Defender Scott Laird recently returned to Walsall until the end of the campaign, having impressed at the Banks's Stadium in his initial period there.

Since our last update, on loan Grimsby Town midfielder Dom Vose has featured three more times for the Mariners. Vose was ruled out with injury prior to the Christmas period, but returned against Blackpool on New Year’s Eve.

First year professional Jack Dyche has re-joined Evo-Stik League Northern Premier side Ashton United for the remainder of the campaign, after spending time at Bradford Park Avenue recently. Dyche scored on the first match since his return, which was a 2-1 defeat at Grantham Town.

Fellow United youngster Noel Burdett continues to make strides at Gainsborough Trinity, and he found the back of the net in a recent fixture - scoring in a 3-2 away triumph against Altrincham.

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Rory Watson has been loaned back to North Ferriby United following his permanent transfer to the Iron from Hull City. He has been with the National League side all season, making 31 appearances in all competitions.
