GOOD TO BE BACK IN FRONT OF THE HOME FANS

10 February 2017

On loan full-back Harry Toffolo believes to be back at Glanford Park on Saturday will provide everyone with a significant boost.

United host Shrewsbury Town this weekend and, following the most recent defeat at the hands of Southend United, the 21-year-old states it’s important to put on a strong showing for the home faithful.

Previewing Saturday’s fixture, Toffolo told The Iron PlayerHD: “You’re always going to get a tough game in Sky Bet League One, no matter where the team is or who they are.

“It’s going to be a really good game this weekend, we’re looking forward to it, and we’ve trained very well.

“It’s really good to be back home in front of the fans. It’s turned into a bit of a fortress here, we haven’t been beaten in a while, and we want to make that continue.”

Casting his mind back to the 3-1 loss against the Shrimpers, Toffolo doesn’t see the need to read too much into what he described as a very “frustrating” afternoon.

The defender insists it’s all about looking forward and, with the games coming thick and fast, he sees the upcoming period as a chance to make a real statement.

“It was very frustrating, both as a team performance and an individual. However, you can’t get too low with results like that - you’ve got to keep going,” he explained.

“There’s a game on Saturday coming up. We’ve actually got three games in the next week, so we’ve got to be ready for those, and put Saturday behind us.

“With a game on Saturday it gives the boys a chance to go out there in front of the home fans and get a result.”

Toffolo was keen to evaluate the Iron’s position with a sense of perspective, given the team’s high league position.

“There’s no need to panic, there’s no need to start thinking the worst at all. We’ve got games coming up we know we can win, and we’re preparing in the right way,” stated Toffolo.

“We’ve won a lot of games, and we never got too high about those. We’ve also lost before and never got too high.”
