LUCKETTI JOINS AS ASSISTANT MANAGER

30 June 2016

Chris Lucketti has joined Scunthorpe United as assistant manager.

Lucketti teams up again with manager Graham Alexander following their time together at Fleetwood Town, while the Iron boss was in charge there. The 44-year-old former central defender remained as assistant manager there following Alexander's departure last September.

Alexander said: “We know each other very well and how we work. He knows what I expect from the players. Chris will be nothing but good for them and the staff. I’m really pleased to get him on board, and would like to thank Fleetwood for their co-operation in letting Chris come to us.”

Lucketti also spent five years with the current Iron manager at Preston North End, a side he made over 200 appearances for.

As well as with the Lilywhites, his playing career included spells at Rochdale, Stockport County, Halifax Town, Bury, Huddersfield, Sheffield United and Southampton.

The move sees Nick Daws become first team coach, with Andy Dawson as coach.

Alexander added: “I spoke to Nick and Andy at the end of last season about what their thoughts were and they were great with it. They could see the reasoning behind bringing Chris in and will still have massive parts to play in what we do this season.”
