The Iron's reserve team were defeated 2-1 at Rotherham United on Monday afternoon.
Gary McSheffrey had the first shot on target for a strong Scunthorpe side, but it was easy enough for Scott Shearer to deal with at his near post.George Grayson, playing right-back, then forced a save in the fifth minute - with Shearer saving well down low at his near post.
The hosts went ahead on six minutes when Wes Thomas slotted home from inside the box after being set up by Haris Vuckic.
The home side continued to press, but Scunthorpe dealt well with the multiple crosses into their box.
The away side's next chance came on 16 minutes when Paddy Madden's effort was deflected and saved by Shearer.
James Severn was soon forced into a save as Wes Thomas burst through and drilled an effort goalwards.
Rotherham's Turgott then volleyed onto the top of the crossbar after a Michael O'Connor cross.
Scunthorpe levelled on 34 minutes when McSheffrey crossed for Deon Burton, who skimmed in a header.
Then, just before half-time, Madden fired wide after good wing play by McSheffrey.
Hakeeb Adelakun replaced Burton at half-time to culminate a good 45-minute run-out for the frontman.
Soon after the break, McSheffrey fired an effort wide. Then he tried a cheeky chip after being fed by Adelakun but there was too little on it.
Bradley struck the near post for the Millers as they looked for a winner.
It was even stuff in the second half though, as Matt Sparrow was next to come close with a drive that was saved by Shearer.
Curtis Bateson replaced Etienne Esajas with 75 minutes on the clock but, just a minute later, Rotherham got their winner.
Blair Turgott crossed the ball and Michael O'Connor headed home at the back post.
And that's how it finished for Scunthorpe's second string, who have just two competitive matches left this season.
