THREE OUT OF THREE FOR YOUTHS

25 August 2013

Hakeeb Adelakun's goal was enough to secure a third win in a row for the Iron's youth team.

United ran out 1-0 victors at Lincoln City on Saturday morning as they kept up their 100 per cent record for the start of the new season.

Winger Adelakun struck on 28 minutes with a ferocious drive from 30 yards which flew into the top corner, giving the Imps goalkeeper no chance.

Not only is it a third straight win, but it is a second clean sheet in three games.

With nine goals scored, it maintains the Iron's position as league leaders.

Scunthorpe were also without influential frontman Curtis Bateson, who is still sidelined with ankle ligament damage.

Academy manager Tony Daws said: "The boys have made an excellent start to the season, and we are very pleased with them.

"Hopefully the players can keep up the hard work."
