Scunthorpe United can confirm that they will be taking on local neighbours App Frod in a pre-season friendly on Saturday, July 11th, 2026 (kick-off at 3PM).
Appleby Frodingham are preparing for their third consecutive campaign back in NCEL Division One following their promotion from the Lincolnshire League, and will be looking to build on a promising 2025-26 season.
The two sides met in a pre-season friendly back in 2023, although the Iron sent their academy side for the encounter at Brumby Hall. In what was a fairly even battle, it was the hosts who came out on top with a slender 1-0 win.
In what had previously been a fixture for which the Iron's former youth teams had played a part in, United's first team did travel to Brumby Hall last pre-season, falling to a 3-2 defeat after two second half goals from the hosts, despite the fact Scunthorpe had been leading prior to wholesale changes at the half-time break.
